Rejection or Hidden Blessing
Rejection noun re·jec·tion \ri-ˈjek-shən\
the act of not accepting, believing, or considering something: the state of being rejected
the action of rejecting: the state of being rejected
Is rejection an unfortunate thing or a blessing? How can we handle rejection? How can we grow through rejection?
This morning I received not one, but two rejections. Really, I thought, two on the same morning? That was definitely a hit on the old self esteem. My flesh really wanted to throw a full blown pity party with all the trimmings, you know, tears, sadness, self pity. Thankfully, through prayer, the Holy Spirit and the wise counsel of my best friend (my husband) and some close friends I came to the realization that what I though was rejection was really just God saying not now, not this one. I had prayed that the Lord would open the right doors and close all the ones I am not supposed to go through, but it gets tough seeing several doors close over the past few months and then two in one morning, doors that I thought were going to stay open, reopen or new ones to be opened. By going through the wrong doors, I wouldn’t be in God’s perfect will for my life. If I chose the wrong door will that take a blessing from another? We get so caught up in the here and now that often times we miss the plan for the future. He knows the plans that He made for me, the future that He has planned for me. When we get caught up in the “I” game, (I want, I should, I need, I, I, I…..) we can lose sight of the Lord and His plan for our lives. So I wait (not especially patiently), for the Lord to give me wisdom and to open the doors I am to pass through at exactly the right time. For now, I know that He is able, He loves me, He forgives me, He provides for me.

Matthew 6:25-26 World English Bible (WEB)
25 Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
Blessings to you.
